Due to the ongoing winter weather, Juniata County School District will be using a Flexible Instruction Day on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 following the 3 hour delay. Please check the news on our website for more information regarding Flexible Instruction Days. All evening activities are cancelled.
The Juniata County School district will be on a 3 hour delay for Tuesday, January 16, 2024 due to the Winter Weather Advisory.

Juniata County Families: School will be closed November 22 through November 27, 2023 for Thanksgiving Break.
From Borough of Mifflintown: Cross Street Bridge will be open for vehicular and pedestrian traffic no later than December 31, 2023. The Borough is requesting that the School District advise all students that no pedestrian traffic is permitted until after December 31, 2023.
JCSD Families: All schools will be operating lockdown drills next week. The schedule is as follows: Monday, November 13 will be JHS, November 14 will be EJHS, November 15 will be TJHS, November 16 will be EJES and November 17 is JES. The drills will be held in the morning and PSP may be onsite.
Reminder: There is no school for students on Thursday, November 9 and Friday, November 10. There are parent teacher conferences on November 9 and Friday is Veteran's Day!
We currently experiencing a Milk carton shortage that is being felt nationwide. The projection of this shortage is to be at least until the beginning of the calendar year and possibly longer. As a result, our Milk supplier to us here at JCSD is cutting our allotted cartons by 40%. To be clear, this is a carton shortage, not a Milk shortage.
To navigate the shortage, we are directing our entire allotment of cartoned Milk to the elementary schools. We will still need to serve Water in place of Milk during certain meal times to further stretch our Milk supply.
Concerning JCSD secondary schools, we are electing to purchase Milk in larger plastic containers and pour into bulk dispensers. There is no shortage on plastic containers for Milk. From the bulk dispensers, with cup and lid provided, students can get their Milk during all meal times in the breakfast and lunch lines.

The incident in Mifflin County is over. The Shelter in Place has been lifted and all schools are returning to normal schedules. This includes our students at The Academy AM session and our Academy PM session students.
Due to the police situation in Mifflin County and the Shelter in Place for Mifflin County Schools, our students who attend The Academy AM session will remain there until the situation is resolved. Our PM session students will remain in their homeschool until the all clear is received. All students and staff in Juniata County School District are safe.
