Bus 40 is running 20 minutes behind on Monday, December 19, 2022.
Due to road construction for the Port Royal River Bridge and Norfolk Southern Railroad, several school vehicle routes will need to be changed to accommodate the detour that will be put in to place. Families who will have pick up/drop off times affected more than 5 minutes, bus stop changes, or bus route changes will be contacted directly. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. The detours for the school vehicles will be put in to place upon our return from break on January 3, 2023.
Juniata County Families: School will be closed November 23 through November 28, 2022 for Thanksgiving Break.
East Juniata Bus 7 Families: Bus 7 students may be delayed in getting home this evening due to a slow moving vehicle on the route in front of the bus.
Please be advised that Barton Hollow Road is closed due to a tractor trailer accident. School vehicles will need to detour and there are some stops we may not be able to get to. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
JCSD Families: Due to the road conditions students may be returning home later than usual this evening.
BUS 8 Families: Bus 8 is currently stuck. Another vehicle is on the way to complete the run. There will be a delay in students dropped off at home.
JCSD Families: All schools will be operating lockdown drills next week beginning on Monday, November 14 will be JHS, November 15 will be EJHS, November 16 will be TJHS, November 17 will be EJES and November 18 is JES. This drill will be held in the morning and PSP may be onsite.

This week begins national school bus safety week. Our transportation department will be collaborating with State Police to help strengthen relationships within the Juniata County School District sending zones. Your child may tell you that they saw someone on one of the vehicles, or someone following behind a vehicle. This is in an effort to promote safety and awareness within our surroundings. There is a non-school vehicle accident on PA 35 in Richfield. School vehicles may be late getting to their stops, as all traffic is being detoured around the accident. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Attention Juniata County School District Parents: In an effort to communicate with parents of absent students and minimize errors, the school district will begin to utilize an automated call system to inform parents on days that their child was marked absent. If you ever feel that there is an error, please call your child’s school office. Also, please remember parents have 3 days to turn in an excuse and may feel free to email any excuse to the attendance secretary at their home school. Thank you.
