The Pennsylvania School Boards Association will offer a Board Candidates Webinar on January 16, 2027. The webinar is open to the public and provides essential insights into what it takes to serve effectively on a school board. Topics covered include key responsibilities and expectations of a school board director as well as the time commitment, legal considerations and the collaborative nature of board service. Experienced school board directors also share real-life challenges and opportunities that may be encountered.
PSBA is also offering an online course for those interested in running for school board. This free online course, Becoming a School Board Director, is designed specifically for potential school board candidates. Those attending will gain a clear understanding of the role of school boards, the responsibilities of individual directors, and essential campaign information.
