Teacher Appreciation Week

Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded Congress to set aside a day to recognize teachers in 1953. Since then, Teacher Appreciation Week has become a national observance dedicated to recognizing the contributions and impact of educators across all levels of education.

This week, students, parents and community members are encouraged to remember the educators in their lives, through a handwritten note, a thoughtful gift, or a simple thank-you, to remind teachers that their work matters and is appreciated.
