Dear Parents and Guardians,
This message is to inform you of an important update under Act 47 of 2025 regarding student attendance and transfers to cyber charter schools.
Under Pennsylvania law, a student who is considered habitually truant (six or more unexcused absences in the current school year) may not transfer to a cyber charter school during the school year unless a judge determines that the transfer is in the student’s best interest.
Families will receive written notice when a student reaches truancy thresholds. We encourage parents to work closely with the school to address attendance concerns early.
