Fayette, Thompsontown, and Monroe Elementary 5th grade students participate in Free Wheeling Career Day!

Girls on the Run

Ten Girls in grades 3-5 who signed up for the Girls on the Run program at Monroe Elementary are having lots of fun. It is a program where girls train twice a week for 10 weeks to participate in a 5K run. The program is noncompetitive, and there is also a curricum dealing with healthy lifestyle, self-esteem, etc., that is also a part of the program. The culminating event will be a 5K run to be held at Susquehanna University on Nov. 12 where they will participate with other Girls on the Run programs from across our region. Good Luck, Girls! Girl Power!

Halloween Parade at Monroe

On Friday, October 27th, the Monroe students put on their Halloween costumes and paraded down Snyder Street and through the Richfield Senior Center to share their Fall Fest Spirit. The students were treated to lovely andy filled bags. Thanks, Sr. Center! The students enjoyed their visit. They then continued their parade to Basom Park where they participated in a Fire Safety assembly by the Richfield Fire Company and Ambulance Service, were treated to snacks by our Home and School organization, and enjoyed some playground time. It was a wonderful day for everyone involved!

Even the teachers got in the act on our trip to the Senior Center!!!

Fall Fest at Thompsontown Elementary

On the afternoon of October 27th the students at Thompsontown donned their Halloween costumes and paraded around the school. A costume contest followed. After hanging out of their costumes, students were treated by Home and School and their teachers to fun Halloween games, activities, and treats. Our Fall Fest was a huge success!!
